Original Hershey Factory Today
As years went on the company expanded tremendously. It was constantly creating more products and quickly becoming one of the most popular chocolate companies. In 1956, the Hershey Company expanded with the buying of a new business. H.B. Reese, the creator of the Reese’s cups, got his chocolate for his “penny cups” from the Hershey Factory. The Hershey Company bought H.B. Reese Candy Company with Reese’s death in 1956. The Reese’s factory was also already located in Hershey (Hershey Entertainment & Resorts).
Today the Hershey Company has more than 13,000 employees worldwide (Odesser-Trophy, 2006). Hershey’s products are exported to over 90 countries (Hershey Entertainment & Resorts). Hershey’s home-town factory is the largest chocolate and confectionary manufacturing facility in the world (Odesser-Trophy, 2006). The Hershey Company is the leading North American manufacturer of chocolate and non-chocolate confectionery and grocery products. The company remains committed to keeping and following the vision and values the company was started on by Milton Hershey so many years ago (Hershey Entertainment & Resorts).
