Today Hersheypark has 11 coasters, a waterpark, and more than 65 rides and attractions on 110 acres of land. In 1946, the Comet, a wooden roller coaster, was built in the place of the original Wild Cat and is still one of the main attractions in the park today. In 1971, Hersheypark transformed into a theme park and had the pay per ride concept was replaced by an all-inclusive admission (Bozich, 2009). Today millions of people come from all over the world to go to Hersheypark and enjoy the rides, waterpark, and entertainment provided throughout the park. Today, ZooAmerica has 200 North American animals of 75 species (Bozich, 2009).
Another attraction that has made Hershey more of a tourist attraction and gave people another way to experience Hershey is Chocolate World. Chocolate World is considered Hershey’s visitor center. It was created in 1973 to provide a look into how chocolate is made, shops, food, and a 3D show. The town’s original mode of transportation, Hershey Trolley Works is based out of Chocolate World (Bozich, 2009). The trolley will provide tourists with tours around Hershey that will show people High Point house that Kitty and Milton Hershey built, the Milton Hershey School, some of the homes the students live in
with house parents, the HomeStead where Milton Hershey was born, and the original factory. They provide sing-a-longs from Milton’s time throughout the Trolley Ride. In Chocolate World people may experience the way chocolate is made by creating their own candy bars and take a free ride that shows how the chocolate is made.
